Michaella started working as a therapy assistant in 2007 at Kings College Hospital, London. Based on the stroke unit, this is where she first discovered her passion for Neuro rehab.
In 2009 Michaella started working in the community rehab team at Homerton Hospital, London. Here she rotated between the Early stroke supported discharge team, the generic teams (orthopaedic and general rehab), and a short stay rehab unit. Michaella relished the challenge of working within a diverse community and formulating functional goals that were meaningful and impactful to their clients’ everyday lives.
Michaella left the community team in 2013 and had a career break until 2018 to live abroad and raise a family.
In 2018 Michaella started working as a Therapy Assistant at a Specialist neurological care centre in Northamptonshire and was promoted to Senior Therapy Assistant in 2019.
Michaella remained there until early 2022 when she began working at Neurobility part-time, alongside a project worker role within a local charity that works to prevent social isolation in elderly people. Michaella is highly skilled as a physio assistant and is brilliant at putting her clients at ease to motivate them to do their best. She loves working with people on their functional goals and incorporates this into her sessions where she can.
Outside of work, Michaella enjoys reading, going on walks with her bonkers labrador, and ferrying her child to the various clubs they do.
