Jen graduated from De Montfort University in 1995 with a BA Hons degree in Sports and Leisure Management, specialising in sports physiology and sociology. In the early stages of her career she gained a number of sports coaching qualifications that she continues to use in both a professional and voluntary capacity.
Jen started working with us in the Autumn of 2019 as a Physiotherapist Assistant. She was keen to use the transferable skills she had developed in a coaching and mentoring capacity, whilst also fulfilling a desire to balance her strategic consultancy, with direct ‘hands on’ work. Jen has learned quickly with support and expert guidance of the physiotherapy team. She is thoroughly enjoying the role and finds it hugely rewarding.
She is committed to her professional development and will be looking to extend her areas of expertise to ensure she can provide the best service possible to her clients.
Jen’s previous experience has been invaluable in her development of the Physiotherapy Assistant role here with us. She has over twenty-five years’ experience within the sport and leisure industry, from a Sports Development Officer to a Chief Executive, which has culminated in the development of her own consultancy business since 2006. Her professionalism, inter-personal skills, integrity and passion for sport and physical activity has been at the core of building what is now a credible and successful sports consultancy.
Since establishing her own business she has developed areas of specialism in research and insight, quality assurance, business coaching and has a particular interest in projects highlighting the mental health benefits of physical activity.
On a personal level Jen is a keen cyclist and enjoys practising yoga on a regular basis, whilst also volunteering as a Beaver Scout leader! Working with such a diverse range of people in both a professional and personal capacity has improved her emotional intelligence, ability to empathise and encourage clients to get the best out of sessions, and ultimately gain positive results during their rehab process.
Jen is a member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
