Emma Thomas

Director and Clinical Lead Physiotherapist

Emma qualified as a physio in 1997 and quickly decided that Neurology was the direction she wanted to take, specialising in the year 2000.  She worked in a range of specialist neurological services in the NHS leading a physiotherapy team in the Stroke Unit and then moving on to lead a Community Neuro Rehab Team.

In 2012 Emma relocated to Warwickshire and, faced with her children starting school, she decided she needed more flexibility in her work and decided to go into private practice.  She wanted the freedom to work with people without constraints and to see what the true potential for neuro rehab was.  She hasn’t looked back!  After several years as a sole practitioner, she started taking on team members and then founded Neurobility in 2022.

In 2017 she became aware of Vestibular Rehabilitation.  She realised that there was not very much help out there for people with dizziness and vertigo so set off on a mission to learn more.  The combined Neuro and Vestibular specialties means that Emma really understands the mechanisms of balance and what keeps us on our feet.

Emma loves solving complex problems with her clients and has a “never give up” approach to getting to the bottom of their problems.  Emma wants to help people achieve their full potential and strongly believes in ongoing support to make sure that they can do what brings them joy in life.

She believes in really getting to know all of her clients and their families to fully understand what they want out of their rehab and to set truly meaningful goals. She likes to help her clients to visualise their goals and sent the “life goals”, not just the physical goals.

Outside of work, Emma is a very proud mother to her teenage twin boys. She’s a keen trail runner and loves being out running and walking her dogs around the countryside. Emma is a volunteer with the Scouts and loves it so much she has stayed in scouting now that her sons have moved on!  Her ultimate dream is go and live off grid in the wild to finally get some peace and quiet when she retires!
